Quality Control Team Leader
To lead Quality Control activities and ensure that products, processes, and quality records conform to customer specifications, quality standards, and established requirements. Ensure compliance with the Quality Management System and applicable quality requirements throughout the production process.
Duties and responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the inspection of incoming materials and finished products to ensure compliance with company quality standards and customer specifications.
- Ensure laboratory activities comply with company procedures and applicable regulatory requirements, while supervising analysts responsible for testing and releasing products, cleaning samples, raw materials, and stability samples.
- Oversee Quality Control activities, including product inspection, testing, analysis, and reporting, and approve or reject product release based on established quality requirements.
- Review product implementations, modifications, and improvements to ensure compliance with customer specifications and applicable quality requirements.
- Ensure adherence to established inspection procedures for each item, including inspection methods, required measuring devices, and defined minimum and maximum acceptance criteria.
- Conduct process audits to assess compliance, process capability, and the effectiveness of established quality controls.
- Monitor, analyze, and report the results of incoming material inspections and finished-product audits, and ensure appropriate actions are taken in response to identified quality issues.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion and maintenance of Quality Control records, inspection reports, laboratory results, and related documentation.
- Investigate identified quality issues and non-conformities, coordinate appropriate corrective actions, and follow up to ensure effective and timely resolution.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in food science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Industry Management, or a related field.
- 5–7 years of relevant Quality Control experience in the food industry.
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards, applicable regulatory and legal requirements, and food laboratory practices.
- Practical knowledge of analytical testing of food substances, products, and formulations.
- Strong knowledge of HACCP principles and food safety management systems.
- In-depth knowledge of ISO standards and international best practices related to Quality and Food Safety.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
