Logistics Specialist

Role Overview

As a Logistics Specialist, you will ensure the efficient flow of goods across procurement, warehousing, distribution, and export operations within a fast-paced FMCG environment. You will play a key role in maintaining product availability, optimizing logistics costs, and ensuring seamless operations from suppliers to customers.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 3–5+ years of experience in logistics or supply chain, preferably within FMCG or manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of distribution, Logistics management, and transportation operations.
  • Experience with ERP systems.
  • Good knowledge of import/export processes and customs procedures.
  • Strong problem-solving, coordination, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-demand FMCG environment.

Key Responsibilities

Logistics & Distribution Operations

  • Coordinate end-to-end logistics activities from procurement to final delivery across local and export markets.
  • Ensure timely distribution of finished goods to warehouses, distributors, and customers to avoid stock shortages.

Transportation & Shipment Management

  • Plan and manage transportation schedules to ensure on-time delivery in a fast-paced FMCG environment.
  • Handle export shipments, including documentation, customs clearance, and coordination with freight forwarders.

Inventory & Warehouse Coordination

  • Coordinate with warehouse teams to maintain accurate stock records and efficient storage practices.

Supply Chain Coordination

  • Work closely with procurement, production, and sales teams to align supply with demand.
  • Support demand planning and replenishment activities to ensure continuous product availability.

Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, export/import requirements, and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for shipments, inventory, and logistics transactions.

Cost Control & Efficiency

  • Monitor logistics costs (transportation, warehousing, handling) and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance delivery speed and operational efficiency.

Systems & Reporting

  • Utilize ERP systems to track shipments, inventory, and logistics performance.
  • Prepare reports on delivery performance, stock levels, and logistics KPIs.

Risk & Issue Management

  • Identify potential supply chain disruptions and implement corrective actions.
  • Resolve delivery delays, shortages, and logistics issues proactively.

Stakeholder Coordination

  • Liaise with suppliers, distributors, transporters, and third-party logistics providers (3PL).
  • Collaborate internally to ensure smooth execution of supply chain activities.
